Newsflash
WE9COM repeaters in
Baldwin and Suring are now linkable. We successfully
completed the testing and the repeaters can now be used for
EmComm or public service events.
In July, we conducted a
training session of our Network Controllers (the group who
will manage linking the repeaters) and provided more clarity
as to when and how the repeaters will be linked.
Further training sessions will be offered in the future.
New repeaters are
presently being built for Cambridge and Sayner. All
new equipment will replace the existing equipment.
Look for Cambridge to become part of the linkable network by
this fall. Sayner may need to wait until 2011, before
it is linked. Other repeater projects are in various
stages of completion.

WeComm, Ltd. is a Wisconsin nonprofit
organization created for the following purposes:

To support and
facilitate emergency, disaster, and public
service related communication systems and
services provided to government agencies, the
general public and private disaster relief
organizations by Amateur Radio Operators through
the Amateur Radio Emergency Service and the
Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service.
The primary purpose shall be the
construction and maintenance of a statewide
voice and digital wireless two-way communication
network.

activities as the directors may determine are
necessary or desirable in furtherance of the
forgoing paragraph. |
WeComm is designing and building statewide voice
repeater and digital data networks, which will be primarily
used by ARES/RACES to better serve its clients.
These networks will use state-of-the-art technology not
commonly used in Amateur Radio networks.
Repeaters and data
networks are now being constructed and acquired.
